Down Low (106-132): Junior Jack Maida returns after a 2019 season that saw him become the Blue Devils' first State Medalist since 2002, and there 2nd overall. He enters the season with 80 wins and gives the Blue Devils a legit thumper in the lower portion of the lineup. There is experience returning around him down here as well, led by Gabe Scalise, who is coming off a strong rookie campaign that saw him record 26 wins and place 2nd in the District. Also back are senior Ross Dougherty, junior Brendan Nichols, and sophomore Jacob Herschenfeld. All three were just under the .500 mark a year ago, but are more than capable of hitting the plus side in 2020. If that happens, this is going to be a very solid group for Shore.
In The Middle (138-160): Shore has a pair of big guns in the middleweights in senior Al DeSantis and junior Mike McGhee. DeSantis, a 2-time District Champ and 3-time State Qualifier, enters the year with 113 career wins, putting him 20 away from breaking the school record. McGhee is a returning District Champ and State Qualifier, who has amassed 74 wins in his first two seasons. Seniors AJ Stuart and Tanner Smuro have varsity experience and will be a big key in this stretch. If they can take the next step in 2020, this could be a very formidable middle for the Blue Devils.
Up Top (170-Hwt): This group took a bit of a hit to both graduation and injury, as the Blue Devils will be without talented sophomore Jamie Mazzacco, a 30-match winner last year. They do return junior Cade Torres, who racked up 27 wins at 220 as a sophomore, and senior Joe Graci, a 15-match winner last year, that gives them a nice 102 punch at 220/Hwt.
